The Chicago Bulls did this season what they accomplished last season,sort of,"kinda".Last season the Bulls lead by the youngest MVP in the history of the game,had the best record in the league and home court advantage throughout the NBA Playoffs.The Bulls could not capaitalize on their home court edge losing to the Heat in 5 games.This season was diffrent,although Derrick Rose missed a substantial amount of games,the team played some good basketball.Luol Deng earned his first AllStar apperence,Joakim Noah played like a ponytailed Dennis Rodman,Carlos Boozer held the postdown and CJ Watson and John Lucas III held Rose position down until he returned.
Perhaps this year would be the Bulls year,sadly Derrick Rose went down in Game 1 of their first round victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.Rose suffered a ACL injury to his left knee ending his season.This was a "punch in the gut"!So difficult to find words that could pick up the Bulls team and fanbase,picture it this way,imagine the Jordan\Pippen Championship Bulls without Michael Jordan.Recall the 1989 Lakers team when Magic Johnson went down in the NBA Finals against the Pistions,no Magic ,no chance!Injuries are a part of the sportsworld that strike at times when players,organizations,and fans least expect it or need it.Derrick Rose is not a Hall Of Famer as Magic and Jordan are,but he is a MVP just as the before mentined and just as important to his team.Some observer believe the 76ers have a chance to defeat the Bulls;not this observer.What makes the Bulls so successful this season without Rose is a lineup with young talent,great coaching of last year's Coach Of The Year Tom Tibideau.The Bulls had a winning record with out Rose ,but with this talented player in the lineup the Bulls were as their records proved this season and last,one of the best in the NBA.If the Bulls could make a Conference title advancement,this would be impressive.Anything else will be miraculous and doubtful.Best wishes to Derrick Rose and the Bulls,hopefully Rose can fully recover and be the player he has become in such a rapid period of time.
