Smelling Good is good business

I was originally going to write a short pieace on our top five recommended Men’s Cologne but as I thought further, I became even more curious as to who even came up with the idea of “smelling good”. Apparently, the history of Perfumes dates back to the earliest civilizations. Modern perfumery started in the late 19^th century with the commercial synthesis of aroma compounds which allowed for the composition of perfumes with smells previously unattainable solely from natural aromatics alone. It began in Egypt and was further refined by the Romans and Persians. The world’s first recorded chemist is considered to be a woman named Tapputi; a perfumer who was mentioned in a cuneiform tablet from the 2^nd millennium BC in Egypt. She distilled flowers, oil and other aromatic compounds.

If Madam Tapputi was still alive today, she would be a multi billionaire because according to a report by Global Industry Analyst Inc., the global market for perfume and fragrances is forecast to reach over $33 billion by the year 2015!

Now every alpha male knows that smelling good is one of the most important grooming essentials (right after deodorant)…..well if you didn’t know that, now you know.
