Position Description:
Objectives
The project's primary objective is to increase rice arid maize production and competitiveness.
The overall objective of this position is to coordinate the training activities being implemented by all project training implementers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of activities to targeted beneficiaries. This position will be based in Morogoro with frequent travel to the training sites.
Specific responsibilities of this position
Oversee and advise all program activities that involve training.
Support technical experts in the creation, production and updating of training materials.
Maintain a master schedule of all trainings and interactions with cooperatives and their members.
Monitor the quality and timeliness of all training activities.
Collect trainee feedback from cooperative leaders and members.
Maintain records of training activities.
Facilitate team discussions to identify recommendations for improving the content and delivery of training.
Facilitate discussions among project training implementers to resolve training conflicts; elevate issues to team leader as appropriate.
Collaborate with M&E to assist in the collection of output and outcome indicators for training activities.
Communicate progress on training activities to project leaders and home office staff through routine reports.
Prepare informational and progress materials for informing external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or higher in a relevant field such as agriculture, sociology and community development or related field is required
Minimum 5 years of experience with designing and/or delivering training with strong understanding of training approaches; experience with farmer organizations preferred
Professional experience in facilitation, planning, conducting and evaluating trainings of preferably farmers, adult education and community is required
Demonstrated organization skills to track progress of multiple trainings and activities
Past experience with monitoring and evaluation, or any other method for monitoring training outputs and outcomes
Strong communications skills (oral, written, presentational) in Kiswahili and English
Computer skills and application especially Ms-word, PowerPoint and Ms-Excel are a must
