Position Description:

Job Objective
The overall purpose of the job is to generate and secure funds needed for AMREF Tanzania's institutional and programmatic activities.
Reports to:Country Director
The Fundraising Officer will report directly to the Country Director while liaising regularly with key members of staff. Responsibilities include:
Develop, in liaison with the Country Director, a fundraising strategy for the AMREF Tanzania office and execute and manage fundraising activities in line with the overall Business
Plan
Identifying national, regional and international potential funders and partnership opportunities
Initiating contact with, managing and cultivating relationship with donors
Planning and following up on solicitation meetings with potential donors for the Country Director, programme managers
Soliciting donations directly in coordination with the Country Director (through one-on-one meetings, visits, letters etc);
Providing counsel to the Country Director on best ways and opportunities for funding requests
Managing the database of donors/prospects including updating it with new information
Drafting all fund raising-related correspondence and producing briefing materials and talking points for the Country Director for fundraising events, meetings
Pursuing innovative ways of cooperation with donors for funding opportunities
Planning, organizing and coordinating fund raising campaigns, events, donor-acknowledgement and recognition events
Maintaining accurate and timely records of all interactions with actual / potential donors
Managing all archive and institutional history of fund raising related activities and contacts made
Collaborating with the Communications Officer to develop outreach material for donor solicitation, acknowledgement and cultivation
Working closely with key related areas - communications,
programme, finance
Minimum qualifications:
A first degree in marketing, public relations or relevant field
A Master's degree will be an added advantage
Over five years of successful fundraising, resource mobilization, marketing and corporate relations experience
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and manage his/her own work,
Ability to work under pressure to agreed deadlines and adapt to change
Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to attend to details
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to find creative solutions to •problems and negotiate with and influence others
Ability to work on own initiative
Experience/knowledge of the development sector desirable

Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and implementation of the communication strategy.
Liaison with staff and project teams to create understanding of the strategy and the role of each towards its attainment. Conceptualization and implementation of activities, events, materials that target AM REF's key stakeholders and partners. Provide overall leadership in media and public outreach including driving media coverage to promote AMREF and its strategic areas.
Provide brand management, quality control and co-ordination for all local communications materials Coordination, planning and management of diverse events and materials to promote and raise AMREF's visibility.
Identify, collect and generate 'good news' stories from
Programmes / projects for internal and external use Management of the communications portfolio
Liaison with media for profile-raising purposes
Developing and implementing innovative ways of positioning the AMREF brand internally and externally
Job objective
Communication officer will enhance AMREF's communication with partners, and the community through proactive media relations and production of quality AMREF publications and communication activities.
Qualifications:
A first degree in communications or public relations
A Master's degree will be an added advantage
Over five years experience in communications and public relations
Exceptional writing and verbal communications skills; good photography and video skills are an added advantage
Excellent working knowledge of the media industry and proven experience in media relations including maintaining relationships with journalists and organising press related activities
Experience in developing and rolling out stakeholder events
Experience of managing the production of printed material and working with third party designers/printers to ensure correct corporate branding and style
Understanding of development issues preferably in health and sound news judgment
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a multicultural environment

Position Description:

He/she will be responsible for oversight of actions related to procurement and ensuring that all procurement follow current procedures and guidelines.
Reports to:Country Director
Job Objective
Prepare quarterly procurement monitoring reports that will reflect the actual status of procurement activities.
Secretary of the AMREF tender committee
Prepare minutes of the tender committee and maintains records for all procurement, and related activities.
Liaises with bidders on procurement matters
Checks and prepare statements of requirements/dossiers, and tender advertisements
Prepare periodic procurement performance reports.
Carrying out regular inspection of stores to ensure that supplies are kept as per standards ware housing procedures
Establishes and maintains up to date database on procurement /activities .
Liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services as per contracts.
Liaise with user department/project in preparation of annual procurement plan.
Minimum qualifications:
University Degree or equivalent in Materials management or Business Administration from recognized institutions.
Certified supplies professional (CSP) or equivalent qualification
Registered with Procurement and supplies professional and technician Board (PSPTB) as authorized supplies officer or stock verifier
A minimum of 4 years working experience in a similar field and in a reputable organization
Knowledge of application of Public Procurement Act and its regulations
Knowledge of procurement and material management packages
Must be computer literate
