United starlet Ryan
Tunnicliffe made his
dad a very happy man last month after making his debut for United, an
appearance that won his father, Mick, a £10,000 bet.

The proud dad had put £100
on his son playing for the Reds at 100-1 when he was aged just nine, but Mick
may not be too happy with the boy that made him proud as he has been charged
with drink-driving after his £60,000 Range Rover was
wrecked in a crash.
Tunnicliffe, 19, who made his
first-team debut for United last month against Newcastle, was arrested after
the crash.
His vehicle was severely
damaged after being in collision with a Transit van, which went on to collide
with the wall of a house in Rochdale.
Police said a front-seat
passenger in the Range Rover suffered a minor whiplash injury.
Fire crews and highway workers
were called to the scene in Green Lane, Heywood, at 2.15pm on Saturday.
Tunnicliffe, from Heywood, was
charged with driving with excess alcohol. He is due to appear before
magistrates in Bury on October 25.
A police spokesman said:
“Shortly before 2.15pm on Saturday, a Range Rover collided with a transit van
on Green Lane, Heywood.
“The van subsequently collided
with the wall of a house.”
