Substitute Silvestre Varela rescued Portugal's Euro 2012 campaign with a late winner to deny Denmark a point in their Group B match.
Portugal had led 2-0 through strikes from Helder Postiga and Pepe before a double from Nicklas Bendtner looked to have maintained Denmark's unbeaten start to the Championship.
Cristiano Ronaldo had missed a gilt-edged chance to Portugal 3-1 before Bendtner's equaliser, but his blushes were spared as Varela - an 84th minute substitute - lashed home from 15 yards out.
